A 60 minute performance of Kalevala bone setting
Music by Wooden Cities Orchestra
Score by Nathan Heidelberger and Brendan Fitzgerald
Vocals: Esin Gunduz
Participant: Timothy Oefelein
Collaborating with the Wooden Cities Orchestra, Pia Lindman gave Kalevala Bone Setting treatments to each of the members of the orchestra. Based on the protocol of a Kalevala Bone Setting treatment and, musically, on early recordings (1905) of the singing of poems of the ancient Finnish oral tradition, composers Nathan Heidelberger and Brendan Fitzgerald created a musical score to be performed in sync with the treatment Lindman improvised on the body of the person receiving the treatment in the performance on stage
